Return of On-Shore Printing

Updated: May 15, 2023

Always ready for change.

We’re proud to have built strong foundations over the last 29 years. We’ve always held ourselves accountable to high standards throughout the business; clients, staff, finances, environmental impact, and our impressive Cheltenham manufacturing facility. Strong leadership and brilliant teams have grown our acorn into a substantial and sustainable tree.

The events of this year completely blindsided us – we won’t pretend they didn’t. But our company-wide character – open, positive and resolute – enabled us to adapt to change. What the future holds for all of us is unknown at this time, but we’re ready for change.

One of the biggest outcomes for us is the en-masse return of print to Australia. Due to Complete’s short production and shipping timelines – and pride in service, quality and value – we’re printing a lot of catalogues that businesses previously sent to China and beyond (and just as we are in this pre-Covid image below, we’re very happy about it).

We build in time for corrections, and value for environmentally-responsible, quality material to ensure an end product that everyone can celebrate. With the Australian Dollar currently hovering around $0.71 US cents, there has never been a better time to invest in Australian manufacturing! For us, trust is everything – from every employee, supplier and contributor to every member of a client’s workforce.

We were an early adopter in the digital print space, moving across with our first digital press from Fuji-Xerox in 2006, but our principles around service, quality and value have never changed. In fact, earlier this month, we passed another audit with flying colours – in ISO 9001 (Quality) and ISO 14001 (Environment) – certifying us as a trusted manufacturer. And we’ve now moved to a top of the class model with the new Xerox iGen 5 Digital Printing Press.

The new machine provides us with the ability to deliver higher volume digital print runs to customers, which enables more economic pricing. It also presents greater security in assurity of supply. We know we can deliver large volumes in very competitive turnaround times.

Every week, we print 45,000 menus for the Marley Spoon (Recipe & Meal Box Delivery) Melbourne site. Everything is done within a 24-hour window; from receiving the file (with 30 variants) to delivering the menus. It’s a big job, but a consistent process has enabled us to transition through change over the last 29 years so that we’re ready to take on jobs like Marley Spoon.

We want you to let us know if we can help your business. However challenging the future may look, we’ll contact you to discuss how we can support with a vast array of solutions.
